Leicester City’s forgotten man Daniel Amartey is keen on a move to Copenhagen this summer, the Danish side’s manager Stale Solbakken has told BT.
A versatile midfielder who moved to the then-Premier League champions in a £6 million deal four years ago, it seems only a matter of time before Amartey is packing his bags and bidding farewell to the King Power Stadium.
The Ghana international has not made a single Premier League appearance all season due to injury but, even if he had been fully fit, a place in Brendan Rodgers’ starting XI seems to have moved out of his reach.
And, if the opportunity arrives, expect Amartey to seize the opportunity to re-join Copenhagen during the off-season.
“He says he wants to go home,” says Solbakken, the former Wolves coach.
“I don’t think his fee will be expensive because Leicester wants to get rid of his salary.”

Solbakken admits, however, that he is doubtful a return to the Danish capital can be agreed, even if Amartey was a big hit during his first spell with Copenhagen. He won three trophies between 2014 and 2016, including the league title.
Speaking to Starr FM, Amartey’s agent Daniel Chisbah all-but confirmed that his client had his heart set on a fresh start away from a Leicester side who look set to qualify for the Champions League.
If he has made Copenhagen a priority, however, the 26-capped ace could be left a little disappointed.
