ACF Fiorentina are reportedly considering Leicester City’s offer for Nicolas Gonzalez, with Tottenham also believed to be interested in signing the attacker.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A side are ‘strongly considering’ accepting a €34m (£30m) bid from Leicester for their Argentina international, with Fiorentina currently in a period of reflection that could ultimately see Gonzalez sign for the Foxes.

As per the report, Gonzalez’s form this season and the weight of Leicester’s offer are leading some at Fiorentina to believe that they might not receive a better bid for the 24-year-old winger in quite some time, which could see the South American head to the King Power Stadium in the coming days.

Leicester are not the only Premier League club interested in signing Gonzalez, though, with Sky Italia reporting that Tottenham have been long-term admirers of the former VfB Stuttgart winger, yet Spurs are yet to make any sort of approach for the Fiorentina star this January.

As a result, there is now a very strong chance that Gonzalez will sign for Leicester this January, with the Foxes in desperate need of attacking depth as well as a quality forward who could push Brendan Rodgers’ side away from the Premier League drop-zone.

However, Gonzalez might not be the player to fill this role for Leicester, with the attacker making just 11 appearances for Fiorentina this season and scoring five goals, something that could cause some concern for the Foxes should the secure a deal foe the 24-year-old.

Leicester are a side that mostly shies away from making expensive signings, which is why it is quite a surprise that the 2016 Premier League champions are set to spend as much as £30m on a player like Gonzalez, who has spent the majority of this season out through injury.

Whilst the winger’s goalscoring record is impressive given how limited the attacker’s minutes have been, Leicester are making a big risk in signing Gonzalez as their marquee attacker for his window, with the forward’s injury issues a potential problem waiting to happen.
