If they manage to claw themselves free of relegation, the Foxes should make keeping these players a priority.

Demarai Gray

Riyadh Mahrez is not the same player that was marvelled at last season. Luckily, with tricky winger Demarai Gray, Mahrez may not even be needed next season. The 20-year old has already shown flashes of brilliance, in particular with a gorgeous goal against Manchester United, and he will only improve from here.

Shinji Okazaki

Okazaki is nearing his 31st birthday, and has only managed 2 goals in this season for Leicester. However, his tireless energy, work off the ball and guile is more important than any stat. His commitment to the cause has never been in doubt, and he must stay.

Kasper Schmeichel

Schmeichel was injured with a fractured hand for most of November and December of 2016, during which time Leicester’s descent began. As a leader and shot-stopper, the Danish international is vital to the Foxes, having shown recently that he can keep them in games by himself.

Jamie Vardy

Jamie Vardy is showing Leicester why they need him just at the right moment. A disappointing and frustrating season is now roaring into life for Vardy, who’s scored an important away goal against Sevilla in the Champions League, plus a brace in the 3-1 win against Liverpool. When it matters, he has proven he can still guarantee goals.

Onyinye Ndidi

It’s tricky to pick between the three “new Kante’s” that Leicester have signed over the past year, but the young Nigerian midfielder Ndidi looks the most promising of the bunch so far. With tireless energy and having played every minute of every game for Leicester since mid-January, Ndidi looks to have adapted to the Premier League very quickly.
