Leicester City now face reported competition for FC Lorient youngster Enzo Le Fee, with OGC Nice interested in signing the midfielder who has been viewed by the Foxes to replace Arsenal target Youri Tielemans.

According to Le 10 Sport, the Ligue 1 side have joined the race to sign the 22-year-old maestro in the January transfer window, with Le Fee one of the breakout stars in France this season as Lorient head into the 2022 FIFA World Cup break in an incredible fifth-place.

As per the report, Lorient are working hard to renew Le Fee’s contract amid growing interest in the midfielder, with 90min recently reporting that Leicester are eyeing the Brittany-born playmaker ahead of the January transfer window, with the youngster a potential replacement for Tielemans.

As reported by the Mirror, the Belgian international is wanted by numerous clubs with Arsenal leading the pack for Tielemans, who is expected to leave Leicester in 2023 either in the January market or in the summer as a free agent once his contract with the Foxes expires.

Indeed, Le Fee’s form this season makes the midfielder an ideal candidate to replace Tielemans. However, interest from Nice will make the challenge difficult for Leicester, unless they are able to sell their Belgian superstar in January in order to reinvest into the squad in the same window.

Added funds could be what aids Leicester in the race to beat Nice to Le Fee. Moreover, the Premier League could be an alluring proposition for the French youngster, who could be tempted to move to England despite some top clubs in his homeland looking to recruit him in January.

Brendan Rodgers is in need of reinforcements in January, and improving the midfield and finding a long-term replacement for Tielemans will be key if the Foxes are to get out of their runt. Which is why signing a player as talented as Le Fee could be an inspired move from the Premier League side.

After all, with Tielemans set to leave, signing a player who has enjoyed a good a season as Le Fee would be a move that Leicester fans will get behind. Yet with Nice in the competition for the Lorient star, the Foxes must do all they can to win the contest for the playmaker’s signature.
