Shakespeare’s impact as Foxes interim manager has moved the club well clear of relegation concern.
Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare shakes hands with Jamie Vardy as he is substituted
Leicester City continued their impressive form since the sacking of Claudio Ranieri with a 2-0 Premier League victory against Stoke City.
In fact it is a run that makes interim boss Craig Shakespeare the first Englishman to win his first four top flight games, a record only matched by four others.
Shapespeare is certainly among exclusive company. Since the Premier League started back in 1992, only Carlo Ancelotti, Pep Guardiola, Guus Hiddink and Jose Mourinho have matched what the Foxes manager has achieved.
While Hiddink and Mourinho’s respective runs, both with Chelsea, ended at four victories, Ancelotti (also with the Blues) and Guardiola (Manchester City) managed to extend it to six.

Of course all four were also in charge of sides expected to be competing for the title, which despite their shock win last season Leicester are not, making Shakespeare’s achievement all the more impressive.
With a home clash with bottom side Sunderland up next for the reigning champions there is no reason to think that the record could not be extended as well.
