According to a report from The Mirror over the weekend, Leicester City winger Demarai Gray has a £12million release clause in his contract – but new reports suggest that isn’t the case.
Gray, 20, joined the Foxes in January 2016 having starred with his hometown club Birmingham City, and was often used as a substitute during Leicester’s run to the Premier League title last season.
This term, the exciting England Under-21 international has started just six Premier League games, having failed to nail down a regular starting role under Claudio Ranieri.
Gray has enjoyed some strong moments though, excelling in a cameo against Stoke City in December and pulling off a superb run and strike in an FA Cup replay against Derby County in January.
The Mirror claimed on Saturday night that Gray could leave the King Power Stadium this summer for just £12million due to a release clause in his contract, with Premier League rivals Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham believed to be keen.
Leicester fans subsequently took to Twitter to react to the rumours, immediately blasting Director of Football John Rudkin for inserting such a low clause into Gray’s deal.

Many believe that Leicester would be making a huge mistake letting Gray go, claiming he is worth much more than the £12million being mentioned, and should be viewed as Riyad Mahrez’s heir.
