Leicester City overcame Liverpool in the third round of the EFL Cup.

Leicester City fans have had to wait almost a month to see loanee Aleksandar Dragovic in action, but the 26-year-old did not disappoint during the Foxes’ EFL Cup clash with Liverpool on Tuesday night.
Arriving from German club Bayer Leverkusen in the final throes of the summer window, the centre-back was given his debut against the Reds and he helped to keep Jurgen Klopp’s much-changed side at bay.

Leicester won courtesy of goals from Shinji Okazaki and Islam Slimani, but it was a team effort that ensured the Foxes moved into the fourth round while Liverpool were left to lick their wounds and focus their attention elsewhere.
Dragovic only managed 24 appearances for Leverkusen prior to his temporary switch and he will no doubt be grateful for the run-out as he attempts to prove his worth to Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare.

The Austrian international previously turned out 112 times for FC Basel and 111 times for Dynamo Kiev so he has plenty of experience, and he adds another defensive option to a Leicester side that has not had the best of starts to the new campaign.
