Leicester City are working on a loan deal to bring Callum Doyle to the club this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, Leicester City are set to sign Manchester City’s Callum Doyle on loan. However, any agreement between the clubs will not include an option for the Foxes to convert Doyle’s stay at the King Power Stadium into a permanent one.
The centre-back is highly rated at Manchester City, and there is a hope he can still make the grade at the Etihad Stadium. In the meantime, a spell with Leicester would be a smart move to help continue his development.
New Leicester boss Enzo Maresca will be abundantly aware of Doyle’s qualities, having been employed as Pep Guardiola’s assistant and having worked in Manchester City’s academy system prior to being handed the reins at Leicester. Maresca will be confident that Doyle can improve his side’s backline as the club seeks an immediate return to the Premier League.

Who is Callum Doyle?
The 19-year-old defender has already racked up nearly 100 appearances in senior football. He spent last season on loan at Coventry City, and was a regular for the club as they enjoyed a fine campaign that ultimately ended with heartbreak in the Championship Play-Off final. Coventry boss Mark Robins, as quoted by the club’s official website, heaped praise on Doyle during his time there, saying he has “a lot of potential…he’s doing really well and having a really good education.”
Prior to that, Doyle had a stint with Sunderland in League One, and was able to earn plenty of game time there too.
Maresca looks set to make a smart decision by bringing Doyle to the club this summer.
