Leicester City face Atletico Madrid 20 years on… in the Champions League.
Neil Lennon gets stuck into Kiko
Leicester City’s reward for beating Sevilla in the Champions League is a quarter-final tie against Atletico Madrid.
Atletico are a daunting opposition who have reached the final in two of the last three seasons, but they are one which will be vaguely familiar to Leicester.
After winning the Coca-Cola Cup in 1997, Leicester faced Atletico in the UEFA Cup, and it did not end well.
In a match played at the Vicente Calderon, Leicester’s spirited display was not enough, with Atletico winning 2-1.
The goals came from big money Italian striker Christian Vieri, and Brazilian maestro Juninho. Atletico would win the second leg 2-0, with Vieri netting again, going through as 4-1 aggregate winners.

Here is a look at the Leicester side which lined up in the clash in Spain, a trip down memory lane for Foxes fans:
Kasey Keller; Spencer Prior, Matt Elliott, Steve Walsh, Steve Guppy; Pontus Kamark; Muzzy Izzet, Neil Lennon, Garry Parker, Ian Marshall, Emile Heskey.
Among those on the bench was Steve Claridge, Robbie Savage and Tony Cottee.
Atletico will be fancied to record a similar scoreline to their predecessors, but they currently are lower placed in La Liga than Sevilla, the team Leicester City just knocked out.
