West Ham fans must surely be pinching themselves this summer, with so many exciting signings already made by the Hammers, and a whole host of top class names being linked with a move to east London.

Manuel Pellegrini has already brought Jack Wilshere, Ryan Fredericks and Issa Diop into the club, whilst moves for Andriy Yarmolenko and Franco Vazquez are reportedly bubbling away in the background.

One area where the Chilean is yet to address, however, is his centre-forward department, with more competition required for Marko Arnautovic through the middle.

With this in mind, and taking their new-found ambition into account, West Ham should make a bold move for Leicester’s Jamie Vardy this summer.

Every Love Island contestant if they were an England player – World Cup!

Pellegrini is well-renowned for his preference of a high-tempo, direct style of play, and the 31-year-old England international would be ideally suited to that setup.

The Hammers currently lack a threat in behind the opposition’s defence, with no real pace in their attacking department.

Vardy could solve that problem instantly, and would offer Pellegrini an entirely different option in the final third.

The Englishman isn’t all about just blistering pace, however. He is also a deadly finisher when presented with a goalscoring opportunity. His career record of 149 goals scored in 311 appearances is evidence of this.

Vardy still has two years remaining on his current deal with the Foxes, but West Ham seem to have the cash in reserve to at least tempt their Premier League rivals into selling the striker.

And if Pellegrini is successful in bringing the England international to the London Stadium, what a sensational signing it could turn out to be for the Hammers.
