Leicester City’s Demarai Gray should reject an opportunity to move to Tottenham Hotspur, as it would not benefit him at this time.

ESPN suggest that Spurs will make a move to sign Gray in the summer, but he would be best off rejecting Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s advances.

Tottenham made a £30 million offer for Gray last summer, according to the Daily Mirror, and they will now make a second attempt to bring in the wide-man.

Spurs, of course, will argue that they have a great track record of developing young players – but Gray is at a stage of his career where he needs to be playing regularly.

The skilful wide-man expressed a frustration at a lack of game time earlier this season, but he has begun to break into Leicester’s team on a more consistent basis now.

Gray has played 30 times for the Foxes, but he is far from the finished article, and not ready to make an impact at Spurs.

The England youth international would be in competition with too many attacking talents at Spurs to receive regular action.

Tottenham have the likes of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela and Heung-Min Son who can all play behind the striker.

And Gray would be better off staying at Leicester than chasing a move to Spurs this summer, as sitting on the bench would not aid his development.
