Youri Tielemans could leave Leicester City for free in 2023 unless Arsenal make a move to sign him in the final weeks of the transfer window.

The Foxes are enduring a difficult summer with new signings hard to come by for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Add in that Kasper Schmeichel has left the club and there are rumours linking Wesley Fofana and James Maddison with exits and this is a tricky time for Leicester.

A side that looked so close to cracking the top four is now in danger of being dismantled and midfielder Tielemans is another player who could leave.

Youri Tielemans could leave Leicester City

Tielemans has impressed for Leicester since joining on loan from Monaco back in January 2019, turning his move permanent that summer.

The Belgian ace has dazzled many around Leicester, with former teammate Wes Morgan claiming that Tielemans is ‘special’.

Tielemans has been a mainstay of Brendan Rodgers’ side and racked up six goals and four assists in each of his last two Premier League seasons.

Now 25, Tielemans remains a key player and has started both of Leicester’s opening Premier League games this term – but his future remains a concern.

Tielemans is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning he may well be leaving Leicester for nothing in the near future.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with Tielemans over the summer but no deal has materialised.

Fabrizio Romano reported in July that Tielemans is expecting to become and Arsenal player this summer, but he’s been left waiting.

The Athletic report that Tielemans is now planning to leave Leicester for nothing next summer unless Arsenal finally come in with an offer.

With just about two weeks of the window left, time is running out for Arsenal to come forward and make that bid.

If Arsenal don’t make their move, Tielemans will head into 2023 with free agency in sight – and the Gunners could end up missing out.
