Derby have been linked with a move for the Leicester man, who was on loan at Ipswich Town last year.
Fresh from selling Tom Ince to Huddersfield Town, it seems Derby County have a target in mind to become their main driving force in the final third, and that man appears to be Leicester City’s Tom Lawrence, as reported by The Sun.
The 23-year-old is supposedly a £7m target for the Rams and their boss Gary Rowett, but Leicester should definitely think twice about selling the player to their fellow East Midlands outfit, as they could seriously regret it in the future.

Last season, Lawrence was shipped out on loan to Ipswich Town to aid his development, and the Wales international excelled with the Tractor Boys, scoring 11 goals in 36 matches while also racking up nine assists for Mick McCarthy’s side.
Without Lawrence’s input, Ipswich would probably have been relegated last season, and he’s now gone out and proved that he has the ability to change games Foxes boss Craig Shakespeare should at least consider giving Lawrence a run-out in pre-season.
If a £7m offer comes in from Derby, while it would make some sense for Leicester to accept it – given they could put that money back into their budget – in a few years, he could be worth three times that amount if he continues where he left off from last season.
It’ll be a tough decision for Shakespeare to make if he is to be sold, but Rowett will be hoping that’s the case as Leicester’s loss will 100% be Derby’s gain, and Lawrence could lead them to the play-offs.
