Bartosz Kapustka shoots at goal
Leicester target Bartosz Kapustka has explained why it is his preference to join the Premier League Champions, rather than other interested parties, highlighting the fact that Claudio Ranieri wants him more than any other of his suitors, (Telewizja Polska via Sky Sports):
“Yes, of all the offers tabled, Leicester wanted me the most. Ranieri’s interest was a big factor for me. He was asking about me, he wanted me to join the team. This convinced me, but there were many factors.”
According to Sportowe Fakty, the Poland international’s move to the Foxes will be completed imminently, with a medical due at The King Power.
Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri wants Riyad Mahrez to stay at the club
Meanwhile, Claudio Ranieri has once again responded to speculation linking Riyad Mahrez with a move away from the club, telling Sky Sports that he expects the Algerian to stay at the club despite reported interest from Arsenal and Chelsea:
Riyad Mahrez has been linked with an exit from Leicester City
“I speak often with him and say stay with us, it’s much better for your future, I think he is an intelligent man and he will stay.”
Mahrez, however, wants a bumper contract renewal if he is to stay at the club, with the Daily Mail reporting that he wants a new deal worth £100,000 per week.
Leicester’s Liam Moore
In other transfer news, Sky Sports understand that Reading manager Jaap Stam is still keen on bringing foxes defender Liam Moore to the Madejski Stadium. The 23-year-old can play in both full-back and centre-back positions, and is reportedly highly rated by the Dutchman.
And finally, after Foxes youngster Callum Elder signed a new three-year deal with the club earlier this week, he has now been loaned out to Championship side Brentford for the entirety of the season, with the London club confirming the news via their official website.
