Brenden Aaronson has posted on Instagram for the first time since signing for Leeds – and both Karim Adeyemi and Leicester City’s Patson Daka have reacted. The Whites confirmed his arrival on Thursday evening.
Aaronson, 21, joins the club after months of interest in the USA midfielder. It dates back to two bids made by Leeds in the January window, only for Salzburg to reject both. They kept him for their Champions League fixtures.
But now, Aaronson has completed a move, putting pen to paper on a five-year deal at Elland Road. His move will be official on July 1, with the star in action for his country four times in June – starting with Morocco on June 1.
Aaronson took to Instagram for the first time following his move, after passing a medical on Thursday. He underlined his delight at swapping Austria for the Premier League, thanking Leeds fans for their messages.
Leeds signing Aaronson posts on Instagram: Adeyemi and Daka react
It is a brilliant move for all parties involved. Leeds are getting a player they know fits them perfectly – Jesse Marsch saying as much after his arrival. Aaronson gets to show off his enormous potential in the Premier League.
Salzburg get a fee for a player that is decent, in the region of £24million. While Leeds could see a profit on that fee in years to come, given his huge resale value. Aaronson is a win win, for all involved in the move to Leeds.
Two of his former Salzburg teammates, both of whom have since left Austria for Germany and the Premier League – in £32.5m (Goal) Adeyemi and Leicester’s Daka – responded to his post.
