Could Leicester City boss Claude Puel rival linked pair Southampton and West Bromwich Albion for Gibson’s signature.

Leicester City are among the contenders to sign Southampton and West Bromwich Albion linked defender Ben Gibson in January, according to one bookmaker.
Southampton sold Virgil van Dijk to Liverpool on Wednesday, with West Brom’s Jonny Evans himself tipped to leave for one of England’s top clubs.

But the pair could face competition from Leicester for Gibson, after Bet Victor made them 6/1 to land the Middlesbrough captain before the end of next month.
West Brom occupy the same odds as Leicester, with Southampton the early front-runners at 4/1.
Leicester spent big on centre-back Harry Maguire during the summer transfer window and also strengthened their options with the loan capture of Aleksandar Dragovic.

However, with Robert Huth and Wes Morgan not getting any younger, and Yohan Benalouane out of favour, it is not impossible that new boss Claude Puel – whose Southampton side were linked with a move for Gibson at the end of last season [HITC] – could target further reinforcements.
Leicester and West Brom were again credited with interest in Solomon Kvirkvelia of Lokomotiv Moscow last week [Sun].
