Danny Drinkwater has delighted the supporters of Leicester City after agreeing a new deal with the club that will keep him at the King Power Stadium until 2021.
The central midfielder had been linked with a move away from the club, and the player supposedly rejected an initial renewal offer from the Foxes amid interest from Tottenham, according to The Express.
However, he has now become the latest player to sign a new deal after the teams’ title heroics, and they have lost just the one key star in the form of N’Golo Kante.
The midfielder’s decision represents a big coup for Claudio Ranieri’s side as they look to retain the majority of the core of stars who shone so brightly last term.
The news has certainly delighted Foxes fans on Twitter, who seemed fearful that the player might depart when Spurs came sniffing for the midfielder whose previous deal culminated in 2018.
