Leicester City supporters on Twitter have been left perplexed by Mauricio Pochettino’s comments after he claimed that Tottenham were ‘better than’ their weekend opponents, as quoted by BBC Sport.

Brendan Rodgers side came from a goal down to walk away with all three points, as Spurs let yet another lead slip following their Champions League performance in midweek.

In the game itself, it was a lively encounter, with the Foxes growing into the game and proving their worth in front of goal.

James Maddison netted a wonderful long-range effort to secure the win, but Pochettino’s comments haven’t gone down well with the Leicester faithful.

There are some who believe that they were the better team against the North London club, as they questioned what game Pochettino was watching.

In the game itself, Spurs could have gone 2-0 ahead, but VAR judged that Heung-Min Son was offside, so Serge Aurier’s goal was chalked off.

It would have been a lot different had that gone in, but Rodgers side showed spirit and determination thereafter and deserved to come back into the game.

Added with that, the Midlands outfit forced eight corners to Spurs’ two, but in the end, the most important stat is the scoreline.
