Claudio Ranieri feels that upcoming opponents Crystal Palace are similar to Leicester City’s recent Champions League rivals Copenhagen due to their strength and wing play, lcfc.com report.

The Foxes host Palace this weekend at the King Power Stadium in a match which Ranieri’s men will be desperate to win in order to relieve some of the pressure off their league form.

The reigning Premier League champions have not made a good start to the season, picking up just eight points from their eight matches and conceding a disappointing 14 goals in the process.

Palace, on the other hand, have improved of late and Leicester boss Ranieri envisages a tough afternoon against a side he believes are similar to recent Champions League opponents Copenhagen.

“We made a very good match but now we have to think about Crystal Palace. They are very tall and strong, similar to Copenhagen, but Crystal Palace have two wingers who are very, very fast,” Ranieri told lcfc.com.

“It is another battle. They are strong at the back and they have good players at the front. They are a very good team. They’re well organised and we have to be very clever.”

Leicester defeated Copenhagen 1-0 at the King Power Stadium in midweek, yet the Danish side caused the Foxes numerous problems throughout and can count themselves unlucky not to pick up a result.

Palace have similar traits in that they like to get the ball wide to the likes of Andros Townsend and Wilfried Zaha, while record signing Christian Benteke is a huge threat through the middle.

The Eagles have won two and drawn one of their last three Premier League matches on the road, and they will be confident of going to Leicester and picking up another positive result.
