Currently placed 18th in the Premier League, Leicester City are undergoing a worrying campaign to say the least.
There is no denying that the Foxes need reinforcements galore to bolster the quality and strength-in-depth within their ranks, especially reeling from a summer where they signed just Wout Faes.
One of the departments that Brendan Rodgers’ side most certainly need to strengthen is in central midfield.
Aside from Youri Tielemans, who has showcased his class once again this season, the club undoubtedly lack a top-drawer No.8.
And with the Belgian international’s contract set to run out next summer, one can imagine that Leicester would be keen on banking a fee for one of their best players over the last few years.
As a result, it has been reported by Graeme Bailey of 90 Min that Leicester City are keeping tabs on Lorient midfielder, Enzo Le Fee.
However, the Midlands club face stiff competition from fellow Premier League teams such as Newcastle United, Fulham and West Ham having scouted him this summer.
Furthermore, the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Real Sociedad and Lazio have also been paying close attention to the 22-year old’s development.
It has been mentioned that Leicester could well consider the Frenchman as a successor to Youri Tielemans, as it is inevitable that he departs the club, whether that occurs in January or in the summer.
However, Lorient are interested in tying down their academy starlet to a new contract, as they are keen on opening fresh talks as his deal expires in 2024.
The report does mention that it would be a challenge for the French side to do so, despite currently surprisingly rising above the league table in 4th place in Ligue 1.
Leicester will hope that their rivals for Le Fee’s signature take a step back, as it is unlikely that he agrees to play his football at the King Power Stadium, with the club finding themselves in a rut this season.
