Premier League champions Leicester City are approaching top form once again, midfielder Danny Drinkwater has told the Leicester Mercury.
The Foxes are yet to find a win this season following a tense 0-0 draw with Arsenal last weekend, although the mood is more positive when compared to the opening-day defeat to newly-promoted Hull City, which saw Claudio Ranieri’s men look noticeably lacklustre.

The improvement during Saturday’s 0-0 tussle with the Gunners has been noted by a number of parties, and Drinkwater, who can count himself a little unlucky to have not earned himself a place at Euro 2016 with England during the summer, believes his team showed glimpses of the form that saw them claim one of the most unlikely league titles in history.
However, he insists the improved performance will count for nothing if City cannot make further progress this season.

Speaking after the game, he told the Leicester Mercury: “The game (against Arsenal) started where we left off last season. It’s something to build on, it’s a point on the board and we’ve got Swansea this weekend.
“Hopefully we can put in the same performance and see what it gets us.

“This will give us encouragement because we lost both games against Arsenal last season.
“We knew last weekend (against Hull) wasn’t good enough, everyone was disappointed, so it was getting back to where we left off. It felt like it did last season, the team was pretty similar.”
Leicester continue their title defence on Saturday, with Swansea City the visitors to the King Power Stadium.
