The Leicester City man is a big fan of the Tottenham Hotspur forward.
Leicester City defender Harry Maguire spoke to reporters whilst away on duty with the England national team, and raved about the quality of Tottenham striker Harry Kane, highlighting how much of a blow it is to have him absent from the squad, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
The Spurs hitman suffered an injury during his side’s clash with Bournemouth 11 days ago, and he is not expected to return to action for around another three weeks in what will be a huge blow for both his club and country.
The 24-year-old has been in sizzling form for the Lilywhites this season, scoring 35 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions thus far, and he has played a pivotal role for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Maguire, who has earned three international caps for England, raved about the quality of Kane, when speaking to reporters, labelling the Tottenham man as the best striker in the world, as quoted by the Evening Standard:
“When he went down I am sure every England fan, every member of the England staff, every player wanted him to get back up. Harry Kane is probably the best striker in the world. He is scoring frequently, getting the Golden Boot in the Premier League last couple of seasons and is up there again. I wish him a quick recovery and I hope he comes back firing goals from now until the end of the season and hopefully he will take that form into the World Cup. Hopefully it is good news and it is a speedy recovery.”
Kane’s injury has come at the very worst time for him personally, as he now sits four goals behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah in the race for the Premier League’s Golden Boot.
Tottenham and England will be praying that he returns to full fitness as soon as possible, with a vital few months ahead for both of them.
