The club’s record goalscorer has stayed as an integral part of Wolves since his retirement, with fans still lauding him as their greatest son. With so much going on in the last few months he’s bound to have a big opinion on it, and as reported by Express & Star he’s spoken about the excitement in the air around Molineux.

“The fans are really looking forward to seeing certain players play at the moment,” he is quoted as saying by the Express & Star. “And there’s that anticipation of not knowing what’s going to happen – which team will go out, how will they play, etc.”

Bull spent 13 years at Wolverhampton Wanderers before his retirement in 1999, and the former striker is well known for sticking with his beloved club and turning down offers to move up into the Premier League. When speaking about the Brentford game, he was feeling positive.

“At the moment Zenga’s just trying to get the right blend in his squad and his team and he used that game to try a few more out. If you look at the two Newcastle games and ask the fans what they’d rather have – the league game or the cup game – they’d say the three points.

“And if we go back to how we played in the first Newcastle game this Saturday against Brentford, everyone will be happy.”

Wolves’ clash with Brentford this weekend will prove to be yet another big test for Zenga’s men against a side who will be eyeing up a top six finish. If the club can maintain their confidence from the league victory over Newcastle, anything is possible in terms of where they end up this season.
