Spurs continued their impressive run of form under Antonio Conte with a massive 1-0 win against Watford, with Davinson Sanchez scoring an extremely late winner to secure the three points.

The Colombian international was the hero at Vicarage Road for Tottenham as Sanchez’s header from a Heung-min Son free-kick have Spurs the perfect start to the New Year.

With Arsenal also losing late in their clash against Manchester City, Tottenham now have the chance to leapfrog their north London rivals when they meet in two weeks time.

Indeed, a win against Watford has put Spurs in a brilliant position to contest for top four, and even with West Ham scrapping a win past Crystal Palace, it has been a perfect weekend for Tottenham, and it is all thanks to Sanchez.

The defender, who Mauricio Pochettino signed from Ajax in 2017, has quietly been going about his business under Conte, and his goal this weekend against Watford came at the perfect time for Sanchez.

The defence have improved hugely under the Italian, as one would expect given the former Inter Milan and Chelsea manager’s record. And Sanchez has been a beneficiary of this.
