They certainly know how to pick ’em in Peterborough.
The London Road faithful could have been forgiven for fretting about the future when they sold star striker Ivan Toney to Brentford in August.
How on earth could Peterborough United hope to compete in the League One promotion race shorn of the services of their star striker?
It’s fair to say Jonson Clarke-Harris has answered that question emphatically.
During Friday night’s 3-1 triumph over Northampton Town, Clarke-Harris found the net for the 30th time this season – four more than Toney managed during his final campaign in blue and white.
In fact, the only real surprise is it took him this long.
Clarke-Harris missed a penalty at Swindon six days earlier but was never likely to do so again, slamming home from 12 yards as Darren Ferguson’s second-place side put relegation-threatened Northampton to the sword.

Speaking to Peterborough Live last month, director of football Barry Fry admitted Rangers and Sheffield United had sent scouts to watch arguably the hottest striker in the Football League.
Clarke-Harris is valued at £5 million these days – five times more than the fee Peterborough paid Bristol Rovers eight months ago.
And while Posh supporters may fear the departure of another red-hot striker, it’s worth remembering Peterborough have been there before and come back stronger.
Ivan who?
