Romelu Lukaku and Rio Ferdinand sent messages on Instagram to Aston Villa’s Ashley Young on Monday.
The Inter Milan striker wrote a two-word message to the Villa winger which simply read ‘Ash man’ with a crying and heart emoji – he’s clearly missing his former teammate who has swapped Milan for the Midlands.
Whilst Ferdinand mocked Young’s physique by posting ‘leg day pending’ to which the Villa man replied ‘r5 never a leg day’.
Even though he recently celebrated his 36th birthday, Young does look in pretty remarkable shape.
If any Villa fans doubt whether he has the legs to regularly compete in the Premier League then they should look no further than last season.
Antonio Conte is one of the most highly demanding coaches in the world and Young played a regular role as Inter won the Serie A title last season.
Young will be hoping to continue that success in Villa colours ahead of the forthcoming season.
Dean Smith’s side will be pushing for Europe and hoping to add a trophy to their cabinet.
The last time Villa were in Europe, Young was ripping it up out on their flanks and he will be hoping to relive some of that magic once again.
