Liam Kitching is seemingly doing a good job of proving a point to parent club Leeds United.

With Leeds’ centre-back options currently being stretched, there are likely to be several youngsters on the Whites’ books – whether they be at Thorp Arch or out on loan – who will be hoping to stake something of a claim to Marcelo Bielsa in case he needs to think outside the box at some stage over the coming months.
Liam Kitching is one of those who will be hoping to catch Bielsa’s eye. And while the 18-year-old faces an incredibly difficult task trying to force his way into the first-team fold any time soon, he is certainly doing all he can out on loan to prove a point.
The defender is currently enjoying his second loan spell with Harrogate Town in the National League, and Kitching has helped the club make an excellent start to the season, with Harrogate currently sitting third in the table.
But while it is his defending that he will particularly keen to showcase during his time away from Elland Road, he is currently showing that he can be a threat at both ends of the pitch.

Kitching opened his account for the campaign in the win over Barnet earlier this month, and he has now made it two goals in three games having scored in the 3-1 win over Solihull Moors on Saturday.
It may not be his goalscoring that Leeds have their eye on, but contributing in both boxes is undoubtedly going to help Kitching’s chances of putting himself on the periphery of the first-team radar when he returns in January.

He is clearly a player the Whites have high hopes for. He was included on the bench in the FA Cup last season and was handed a three-year contract in the summer before returning to Harrogate.
It is going to be difficult for Kitching to improve his first-team prospects too significantly while he is playing for a non-league side, but with two goals in three for the early promotion-chasers, it appears fair to say that the teenager is doing all he can right now.
