Leeds United youngster Billy Whitehouse has joined Guiseley on loan, with the news confirmed by the Vanarama National League side’s official Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon.

The 20-year-old only signed for Leeds this summer from Doncaster Rovers, and he showed early signs of promise for the club’s under-23s in an unexpected role at right-back.

Such were his performances bombing forward that some observers felt he could make his first-team breakthrough at Elland Road this season. Instead he will spend the next three months with Guiseley where he will be hoping to get regular minutes under his belt.

A good spell away could see Whitehouse return to Leeds at Christmas with the bit between his teeth and the desire to further impress Whites boss Garry Monk.

Whitehouse previously featured 11 times for Doncaster and will have joined Leeds hoping to add to his senior appearances sooner rather than later.

A versatile player, he can operate at right-back, in the middle of the park, as a centre-back and on the left wing.
