Leeds have reportedly joined the race to sign Belgian wonderkid Charles De Ketelaere from Club Brugge – a player Radja Nainggolan urged to leave his current club this summer, having outgrown them.
De Ketelaere, 21, helped Brugge win his third Jupiler League title last season – enjoying his best form in blue and black. Playing 49 times, he had a hand in 28 goals; scoring 18 and creating 10 more.
Fabrizio Romano says Leeds are considering a move for the eight-time Belgium international – but face competition from AC Milan. He is being seen as a possible replacement for Raphinha this summer.

It comes after earlier reports this summer said that Newcastle were looking at the £34m-rated ace. Speaking about De Ketelaere, Nainggolan is quoted by Sempre Milan as saying he has outgrown Brugge and should look to go.
“He needs to test himself in a more competitive context. De Ketelaere has won the last three league titles here, in the last two he has been an undisputed star. What else can he aspire to? His journey in Belgium is over.”
Leeds have joined De Ketelaere race: Nainggolan urged him to leave
This would be a sensational signing for Leeds. Not least because he is a player with enormous potential, and not least because his goal and assist output would replace the loss of Raphinha.
But because of the wonderkid’s sensational versatility. During his time at Brugge, he can play as a no.9, a no.10, or on either flank. That is, despite his lofty frame. Leeds need a striker, and to replace Raphinha.
De Ketelaere can do both. As Nainggolan says, he has outgrown Brugge but the temptation of Milan would be hard to ignore – Serie A winners, and in next season’s Champions League.
