Leeds United manager Garry Monk
Leeds go into their game with Queens Park Rangers looking to strengthen their grip on a Championship play-off spot, while also avenging the 3-0 defeat they suffered at Loftus Road on the opening day of the season.
Garry Monk’s men have improved dramatically since they were dispatched by the Hoops, with that improvement being highlighted by how disappointed they were to draw away at an impressive Fulham side in midweek.
Selection-wise, it seems likely that Monk will not make wholesale changes from the game at Craven Cottage for the visit of Ian Holloway’s men – though one change will have to be made following Kalvin Phillips’ dismissal last time out.
Ronaldo Vieira came on against the Cottagers, while Eunan O’Kane was left out so the former may well take Phillips’ place.
Meanwhile, Chris Wood will almost certainly return after being sidelined against Fulham, but Luke Ayling may well be left out again.
Chris Wood will surely return for Leeds
The right-back welcomed a baby daughter ahead of the Fulham game, and in his absence, Gaetano Berardi was fantastic. Given that Ayling’s preparations will have probably not been ideal going into the QPR clash, the Swiss deserves to get the nod again, especially with Ayling on nine yellow cards for the campaign.
Meanwhile, QPR may perhaps make just one change with Darnell Furlong replacing James Perch in defence, as they look to repeat the tremendous win they secured all the way back in August.
Victory for the visitors could see them move into the top half of the table, while Leeds could move up to third if they secure the three points.
