Former Leeds United defender Tony Dorigo has taken to Twitter in order to react to Saturday’s 2-0 home win over Burton Albion.

The Whites were in high spirits having not only beaten Norwich City in a frenetic EFL Cup tie in midweek, but also claimed a 1-0 win away at Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.

It proved to be another win for Leeds on Saturday, but they left it late; Chris Wood’s 83rd minute penalty gave Leeds a late lead, and Souleymane Doukara – who was fouled for the penalty – then added a second in stoppage time to seal a 2-0 victory.

The result means that Leeds have now lost just one of their last five league games, and sit only one point off the top six as Garry Monk has turned Leeds into legitimate contenders for the play-offs.

After the final whistle on Saturday, former Leeds left back Tony Dorigo took to Twitter to share his views on Leeds racking up yet another victory.

Ex-England international Dorigo, who played more than 200 games for Leeds in the 1990’s, admitted it was great to see the Whites grab another win, before looking ahead to their next two fixtures.

Leeds travel to take on fourth-placed Norwich City next weekend, and after they return from the international break, they then host league leaders Newcastle United at Elland Road.

Those are two big games for Leeds, and whilst fans will already be hoping for points in those fixtures, it’s still worth celebrating Saturday’s win over Burton Albion, as Dorigo was on Twitter.
