Leeds United look to put the Tykes in their place at Elland Road on Saturday.
To be played on Saturday 1st October 2016 at 15:00. Venue: Elland Road, Leeds
Odds: Leeds 11/10, Draw 12/5, Barnsley 23/10
Leeds United will hope to get their resurgence under Garry Monk back on track this Saturday when Barnsley visit Elland Road.
Monk’s side missed the chance to extend their four-match winning run in midweek by losing 1-0 at Bristol City.
Losing certainly curtailed some of the feel-good vibes around Leeds’ form, but United will aim to ensure that the defeat was a mere blip rather than the starting point for another poor run of results.
The former Swansea boss should, and probably will, stick with the tried-and-tested 4-2-3-1 system which perhaps sparked their winning streak in the first place, with Chris Wood – who has four goals in his last five – continuing as the spearhead.
Monk may make one change from the defeat at Ashton Gate, with Liam Cooper possibly coming in for the hugely-popular defender Pontus Jansson.
The Swede was taken off at half-time on Tuesday in a precautionary measure due to a tight hamstring, but it remains to be seen whether he will be okay for Saturday.
By virtue of the fact that Barnsley are the second highest scorers in the Championship so far with 20 goals in 10 outings, it would be a big boost if the 25-year-old centre-back was available.
