With an excellent record of producing youngsters at Elland Road, which player has stood out this season?
James Milner celebrates scoring for Leeds
One thing that will always give Leeds United fans pride is their youth academy, which has produced players that have gone on to become club legends at Elland Road.
The majority of Leeds’ most famous encounters have had players from their youth academy feature in, with the likes of Billy Bremner, David Batty, James Milner and Danny Rose all coming through the ranks at Leeds.
It therefore gives fans great excitement to fans, as well as pride, when they see one of their own come through the system and start plying their trade with the first team, and the latest talent to make an impression is the excellently named Ronaldo Vieira.
The 18-year-old defensive midfielder made his debut towards the back end of last season, but is becoming a more important part to manager Garry Monk’s side with each passing week.
Leeds United’s Ronaldo Vieira celebrates after the match
Vieira has made 29 Championship appearances this season, and the Portuguese born star scored his first – and so far, only – Leeds goal earlier this campaign, with a 90th minute screamer securing a 3-2 win over Norwich City.
With his whole career in front of him, Vieira could go a long way in the game if he maintains this impressive form – and Leeds fans will be hoping he does that at Elland Road.
