Will Huffer of Leeds United looks on during the FA Cup Third Round match between Queens Park Rangers and Leeds United at Loftus Road on January 6, 2019 in London, United Kingdom.

Leeds United goalkeeper Will Huffer has responded to a Whites supporter making a joke after Pontus Jansson’s departure was confirmed last night.

Leeds have offloaded Jansson to Brentford and officially confirmed the centre-back’s move yesterday.

It leaves Marcelo Bielsa’s options at centre-back looking very short, and one Leeds fan cheekily suggested that young goalkeepers Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Huffer may have to cover in the position as the season progresses.

Huffer, though, had other ideas, as he jokingly suggested that he wants a spot in defensive midfield if he has to play out on pitch.

Huffer made one appearance for Leeds last season, and kept a clean sheet against Bristol City.

Leeds’ decision to sell Jansson to Brentford has not gone down well with many supporters, as he was a very popular figure at Elland Road.

Jansson was one of Leeds best players last term, and he will be difficult to replace.

Leeds have already signed a centre-back this summer in the form of Ben White, but they may need to add another defender now.
