Former Leeds United midfielder Lewis Cook skippered England to glory in the Under-20 World Cup in South Korea.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was the hero as his 35th-minute winner was enough to clinch a 1-0 over Venezeula and give the Young Lions the title.
Cook, who rose through the ranks at Leeds before sealing a move to Premier League side Bournemouth last summer, enjoyed a fine tournament.
And his former Whites team-mate Tyler Denton has offered his congratulations to the midfielder on Twitter.
It has not been a great last 12 months for Cook since leaving Elland Road, with the 20-year-old managing only six Premier League appearances for the Cherries – and five of those came at the end of the season.
An ankle injury in October forced him to miss three months, but the ex-Leeds star, who was at the club since the age of seven, had already been on the periphery of Eddie Howe’s first-team squad for the first few months of the campaign.
Denton, meanwhile, will hope that he also has a more eventful 2017-18 campaign, having spent most of last season with the Whites’ Under-23 outfit.
But the young left-back could and should be determined to impress United’s next manager, with the imminent exit of Charlie Taylor an avenue for him in which to stake his claim.
