Leeds United snapped up Ajax talent Pascal Struijk last year.

Leeds United should be grinning this week when reflecting on managing to sign one of Ajax’s bright young talents last year.
The Dutch side have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, with the core of the side built around youth players from their academy.
Leeds’s swoop on Ajax in January 2018 for Pascal Struijk suddenly looks like quite a coup.
Struijk is a centre-back who has played a key role for Carlos Corberan’s Leeds under-23 side the season.
The defender has been a regular name on the scoresheet too, managing to get up from the back and trouble opponents.
Alongside Aapo Halme, who has already featured for the first team, the pair have struck up a successful partnership.

The 19-year-old is under contract to Leeds until 2021, with Leeds handing him a three-and-a-half year deal when he joined.
He has been capped for Netherlands at youth level and he has a chance of cracking the Leeds’ first team.
Promotion to the Premier League will make it more difficult to break through, but if he is good enough, he will make it.
Leeds are lucky to have him, as their under-23 side have already established, and Ajax’s success shows how well the Whites did to lure him away.
