Aden Flint is in superb form at Bristol City while Leeds United’s defence has never looked more vulnerable under Thomas Christiansen.

Bristol City will be thanking their lucky stars that giant centre-back Aden Flint remained at Ashton Gate beyond the close of the summer transfer window.
Barely a day went by without the 6ft 7ins talisman being linked with a move elsewhere as countless Premier League and Championship clubs reportedly expressed their interest. Leeds United were one of the teams at the front of the queue, The Mirror reporting that they made an enquiry as to Flint’s availability in August.
And if Leeds were frustrated at the time that they failed to bring the £7 million-rated centre-back to Elland Road, the events of the last few matchdays have only exacerbated the feeling that they should have done more to convince Bristol City to cash in.

Leeds have lost three of their last four Championship games and have conceded eight goals in the space of a week. So much for that excellent defensive record, where Thomas Christiansen’s side secured six straight clean sheets prior to last month’s loss at Millwall that kick-started the decline.
Flint, meanwhile, has been in inspired form for a Bristol City side who have emerged as one of the most entertaining in the division. The Robins won four of the six games that Flint started in September while picking up creditable draws with Wolves and Derby County.
Therefore, his nomination for the Championship’s Player of the Month award is well deserved.

And the 28-year-old was not merely impressive at the back, he also scored three goals at the other end, including a dramatic winner away from home against Reading.
For context, not one of Leeds’ defenders have hit the back of the net this season. £7 million is a hefty sum but, the way Flint is playing, Bristol City may be tempted to add a few more million onto his price tag.
