The Leeds United winger only had 14 minutes on the field but he may as well have stayed sitting down.
Leeds United attacker Souleymane Doukara had to make do with a place on the substitutes’ bench for their clash with Cardiff City this weekend.
But with time running out and Garry Monk’s side two goals down, Doukara was sent on in a late bid to change the game.

It was not to be, with things going from bad to worse when skipper Liam Bridcutt was dismissed late on, but a quick look at Doukara’s individual stats shows just how ineffective he was when Leeds needed him the most.
When a side is trailing, a substitute’s job is more often than not to add some additional spark and change things up, with Doukara the perfect player to run at tired opposition legs.
However, when he left the field 13 minutes later he was left with many of the same stats as he would have had if he had not come on at all.
| Key Passes | Tackles Won | Duels Won | Interceptions Won | Ball Recoveries | Shots | Dribbles | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Souleymane Doukara | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 14 |
The Leeds player – who was been hit-and-miss under Monk – had a big fat zero in the column when it came to key passes, tackles, interceptions, duels, ball recoveries, shots and dribbles.
It is often hard for a substitute to play his way into the game, but few have as little impact as Doukara managed on Saturday; and on this evidence one wonders if he has already played his last match for Leeds given the wingers that arrived last month.
