It was a day to remember for Leeds United’s Ryan Edmondson as he made his England U-19’s debut.

Leeds United striker Ryan Edmondson has expressed his delight on Instagram at making his England U-19’s debut, as he stated that it was ‘even better’ than he scored and assisted in what was a stunning performance.

England’s U-19’s started off their new campaign by beating Greece 3-1 at St George’s Park, with Edmondson getting on the scoresheet in what was his first game for his country at that level.

The 18-year-old is highly-rated at Elland Road, and a lot is expected of the teenager, who is being regularly being coached by one of the best in the world in Marcelo Bielsa

Nonetheless, following his England U-19’s debut, this is what Edmondson posted on his personal Instagram account, as he was ecstatic with what he had just done.

Edmondson message

Edmondson has featured for Leeds this season, but on both occasions, Bielsa has brought him off the bench in the Championship.

It will be pretty tough for him to break into Leeds’ starting XI given the attacking talent that is ahead of him, especially Patrick Bamford and Eddie Nketiah.

But given Bielsa’s belief in the younger players, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Leeds fans see a lot more of their star striker this season – in whatever position.

Prior to the international break, the Yorkshire club suffered a home defeat to Swansea City, but they are still sitting in third place after six matches.
