Leeds United striker Ryan Edmondson has told the club’s official website that it was unbelievable for him to see Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane at St. George’s complex last week.

Edmondson made his debut for the England Under-19 side against their Greece counterparts last week.

The 18-year-old made a memorable debut, as the talented and promising teenager scored in the 55th minute.

Edmondson is delighted to have made his debut for the England Under-19 side, and the teenager was excited to see Tottenham and Three Lions star Kane.

Edmondson told Leeds’s official website regarding wearing the number nine shirt: “I think back to the 2018 World Cup with Harry Kane wearing it.

Even now seeing him walking around the St George’s complex, is absolutely unbelievable to me, so to be able to wear that shirt, and to score in it, it’s all just incredibly surreal.”

The youngster added about playing against Greece: “The first 5 to 10 minutes I was probably a bit nervous.

“I’d never been to St George’s before, but I think that’s the same for a lot of players, and once you put it to the back of your mind, you settle into the game, and I really enjoyed the experience as a whole.”

One for the future

Edmondson is at the start of his career, and at 18, it is hard to see him establish himself in the Leeds first team anytime soon.

The teenager will get chances for the Leeds first team from time to time this season, and he will have to make the most of it.

Working under Marcelo Bielsa is only going to help him, and exposure for the England Under-19 will help him further in his development and progress as a footballer.
