Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has reportedly been handed a £20 million transfer budget.

According to the Daily Mirror, Leeds United are prepared to offer Marcelo Bielsa a £20 million transfer budget and that may just give them a chance to land Matej Vydra from Derby County.

The Yorkshire Evening Post had reported how Leeds had been working on a deal to sign Vydra, but at the time the suggestion seemed very ambitious.

Derby are looking for at least £10 million for the striker (Daily Mail), which was a price-tag that was initially feared to be out of Leeds’ price-range.

However, Andrea Radrizzani’s ambition for the season ahead appears to be huge, with Leeds prepared to invest.

Vydra is now very much within Leeds’ budget, if they do have £20 million to spend, and the Derby man could be a great addition.

Vydra possesses the energy to break between the lines that Bielsa demands, and he has proven a major weapon at this level.

Vydra netted 21 goals for the Rams last term, and he could be a major threat if brought to Elland Road.

Bielsa will want to add quality this summer, and if Vydra was his first addition, then it would be a stunning way to start life with the Whites.
