The Leeds United defender has been speaking to the media in his homeland.
Leeds United centre-back Pontus Jansson has been speaking to Swedish newspaper Expressen about the criticism he gets from some of the club’s supporters when he shows his love for former side Malmo.
The 26-year-old played 128 matches for the club prior to his switch to Torino, from whom he joined Leeds on loan last summer.
A permanent switch to Elland Road is expected to be announced in due course, with the player himself confirming that he will be back in Yorkshire for pre-season, but he has short shrift for those Leeds fans who do not like him speaking about his old team.
“It’s just pure bulls*it,” Jansson is quoted as telling Expressen. “I have full focus when I play in Leeds and then I love Malmo alongside it.
“It cannot change, so they (the fans) can think what they want.”
Jansson quickly became a firm fan favourite at Leeds, featuring 36 times this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists in the process.
He is fully aware of what it means to play for the Whites and his influence and innate talent mean Leeds fans will be desperate to keep hold of him for the long term.
Only time will tell how long he stays at Elland Road, but those Leeds fans questioning his love for another club should probably just focus on what he is doing for their own.
