Leeds United take on Blackburn Rovers in the EFL Cup later this month.

While fans are currently enduring yet another international break it will not be long before Leeds United are back in competitive action, not only in the Championship but also in the EFL Cup.
Succeeding in the former will be Whites manager Garry Monk’s focus as he bids to do what so many have failed to before him and guide Leeds back to the Premier League, meaning the cup competition is likely to see fringe players get their chance.

That was the case in the last round against Luton Town and the upcoming match against Blackburn Rovers could see another youngster make his debut, following in the footsteps of Tyler Denton.
Centre-back Jack Vann has been impressing for Leeds’ under-21s and under-23s and following the departure of Sol Bamba there could be a place for the 18-year-old defender in Monk’s first-team plans.

With Liam Cooper and Kyle Bartley used predominantly in the league, Vann could see the match against Blackburn as the ideal place to begin his journey to first-team regular.
He will have seen some very promising players leave Leeds this summer and know how important it is to make an impact as soon as possible or risk falling by the wayside, and with Bamba no longer there to take his place against Rovers, Monk could be wise to throw the youngster in and see if his faith is rewarded.
