Leeds United’s summer move to sign Pablo Hernandez on loan was hailed at the time as an outstanding piece of transfer business.

After a slow start at Elland Road, the Spaniard has really begun to blossom, playing a key role in the club’s up turn in form which sees them occupy a play-off place.

Hernandez’s improvement has been so remarkable in fact, that on a per game basis, he is officially the most creative player in the Championship.

It’s a narrow margin, but nonetheless, Hernandez is the player at the top of the list, according to Opta data.

Hernandez is only on loan, but is expected to make his move permanent, and is flourishing under the management of Garry Monk, who he played alongside and then worked under at Swansea City in the Premier League.

The 31-year-old has been capped at international level by Spain, and despite concerns he may not adapt to the Championship, he is proving that notion wrong and demonstrating his class in a crowded division.
