The Leeds forward has struggled for game time at Elland Road and has completed a temporary switch.
Leeds United have confirmed that forward Nicky Ajose has joined Crewe Alexandra on an Emergency Loan until January 5th.
Ajose moved to Elland Road from Peterborough United on a three-year deal in August but has found opportunities for game time rather limited so far this term.
| Position | Team | Appearances | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nicky Ajose | FW | Leeds | 3 | 199 |
| Matt Smith | FW | Leeds | 3 | 86 |
| Brian Montenegro | FW | Leeds | 2 | 3 |
| Scott Wootton | DF | Leeds | 2 | 180 |
| Zan Benedicic | MF | Leeds | 1 | 12 |
| Chris Dawson | MF | Leeds | 1 | 21 |
| Noel Hunt | FW | Leeds | 1 | 58 |
| Charlie Taylor | DF | Leeds | 1 | 35 |
As Opta stats show, the 23-year-old has only featured three times in the Championship so far this season – as many as Matt Smith, who was sold by Leeds back in August.
A statement on the club’s website read:
“United forward Nicky Ajose has joined Crewe Alexandra on an emergency loan deal until January 5, the club can now confirm.
“Ajose, a summer signing from Peterborough United, signed a three-year deal at Elland Road in August but has since found first-team opportunities limited.”
Other Leeds players are also rumoured to be heading out on loan before the Deadline passes tomorrow, such as Noel Hunt.
For Ajose, meanwhile, the hope will be that an extended first-team run at League One side Crewe Alexandra can help him find some form before he returns to Elland Road.
