Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn believes that defender Stephen Warnock is having a good season.

Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn has been singing the praises of Stephen Warnock.

The former Liverpool defender was a key player for the Whites in their 2-0 victory over Derby County at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday.

The 32-year-old left-back played the entire 90 minutes and emerged with impressive stats: 77% pass accuracy, two crosses, three chances created and one take-on.

Warnock was strong defensively, leading Redfearn to underline his importance in the Leeds team.

“I think Stephen’s having a great season,” the Englishman is quoted as saying by Leeds’s official website. “He’s a vastly experienced pro, he’s a good pro. He understands the game and he’s a leader.

Warnock, who has been on the books of Leeds since 2013, has been a key player for the West Yorkshire outfit so far this season.

In 16 Championship appearances, Warnock has scored one goal, created 17 chances, won 60% of his duels, has a 84% pass accuracy and 100% shot accuracy.

Leeds are currently 15th in the Championship table with 23 points from 19 matches, five points above the relegation zone.
