The Leeds United striker failed to get on the score sheet despite two great chances.
When Marcus Antonsson arrived at Leeds United last summer, he did so off the back of a superb goal-scoring campaign at Kalmar, scoring 13 goals in 18 outings, but his luck quickly changed at Elland Road, as despite some promising performances he failed to find the net anywhere near enough.
Early strikes against Fleetwood Town and Sheffield Wednesday suggested he had quickly found his feet, yet from there his form deserted him, with the woodwork proving to be his nemesis on more than one occasion.

By the end of the campaign, Antonsson had managed just three goals in 21 outings for Leeds, and he would have been hoping for a change of fortune under new manager Thomas Christiansen.
Alas, in the first friendly of the summer he was again left to rue missed opportunities, first as he struck the crossbar against Harrogate Town and then when he was denied by a fine save.
Leeds still ran out 4-2 winners but Antonsson will have been desperate to get on the score sheet, especially when rival striker Lee Erwin scored and Chris Wood will soon be returning from an extended summer break.
There is plenty of football still to be played, however the Swede will not want last season’s bad luck to follow him into the new campaign.
He needs to break his duck quickly and prove to Christiansen that he has a significant role to play as Leeds push for a belated promotion.
