Leeds United's Luke Ayling remonstrates with referee Geoff Eltringham after Nottingham Forest opened the scoring

Leeds defender Luke Ayling is out of action for the next two months after sustaining a MCL knee injury, BBC Sport reported.

It was the second game in a row that Ayling got injured in matches against Nottingham Forest.

Last season Ayling ended up missing five months after an injury in the fixture.

As the right-back noted, both injuries occurred in games which had evening kick-offs. It was a freak coincidence.

Last season Leeds struggled badly without Ayliong, with their form tailing off badly, resulting in the sacking of manager Thomas Christiansen.

Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds are unlikely to go into the same downward spiral, but Ayling’s absence is impossible to ignore.

It is up to the resourceful Argentine manager to find a solution to the latest challenge he has been presented with.
