Leeds defender is better off having stayed at home.

Leeds United centre-back Liam Cooper was harshly left out of Scotland’s international squad.
He has been one of the top defenders in the Championship this season, certainly the most improved, but it was not enough to impress Alex McLeish.
As it turns out, Cooper is better off out of it.
Scotland suffered an embarrassing result yesterday, losing 3-0 in Kazakhstan.
Their European 2020 qualifiers are off to the worst possible start.

Scotland’s defensive deficiencies were badly exposed, and clearly there is a need for fresh faces.
Cooper’s stock has risen as a result, becoming a potential solution.
He has become one of the winners of Scotland’s horror show, and if he keeps up his good run of form this summer, it’s only a matter of time before he gets his call up.
