Leeds United central defender Liam Cooper has explained to Leeds Live why he is in good form this season.

Cooper recently returned from an injury layoff, having established himself as an important player in the Leeds starting lineup.

The 27-year-old centre-back has made 19 appearances in the Championship for the Whites so far this season, scoring three goals in the process, according to WhoScored.

The former Hull City defender has been on the books of Leeds since the summer of 2014 when he joined from Chesterfield.

Cooper has not always been convincing, but the defender is doing well this season, and he has explained why.

The defender told Leeds Live: “Couple of seasons struggling to adapt back into the Championship. Got myself well in pre-season. Tough pre-season has been good for me and got me through games much easier.”
